Story 286
I’ve been out of the country for a while and am just getting caught up. Did Jane Fraser really end up hiring a second polarizing figure as her potential successor at Citi? The Financial Times piece on [REDACTED], the head of investment banking, is a wild ride. And is it true she paid him a $42 million signing bonus that may have been unnecessary? Mercy.
At the same time, her head of wealth management has driven out a number of high-profile women, faced incessant negative press, and allegedly needs a reorganization every quarter in order to hit his numbers. It’ll be interesting to see how this plays out — two Dog-Eat-Dog leaders competing for the top role.
Got to love two mediocre angry entitled men who need mommy to cover for them. But what happens when mommy figures out her job is in jeopardy because she made the wrong bet? Then what?
Happy Investor Day to all who celebrate!
