Story 302

Is it just me, or does Citi seem more willing to settle matters involving regulators and clients while digging its heels in against employees—particularly women—who bring claims of harassment, discrimination, or retaliation? I guess like its Epstein lawyer, Paul Weiss, it doesn’t care how its own people are treated but the C-suite is worried about the perception that it cuts corners with clients?!

The employee who sued [REDACTED], Jane Fraser’s COO, appears to have reached a settlement relatively fast.

There seem to be countless stories on this platform from current and former employees about shortcuts, workarounds, and the internal pressures that contributed to the Consent Order. If I were sitting on a whistleblower complaint related to data governance and control failures, I would do my best to find a lawyer ASAP and go to town.

The Head of Wealth at Citi—somewhat ironically given his reputation also the head of the women’s network—hosted a Women’s Day event with Martina Navratilova. I’ve read many of the stories on this platform and can relate to so much but what hits hardest are the constant microaggressions that wear you down. Being talked over in meetings, having an idea land only after a male colleague repeats it, being described as “too direct” for the same behavior that earns men…
