Story 333

To the community,

I’ve been reading the stories here for some time, and like many of you, I recognize the patterns. Most recently from Stories 331, 327 and 324, but there are many others.

While our individual experiences may not strictly be the same, and each deserves to stand on its own terms, I think that those of us who are considering legal action, or who have already taken it, may benefit from knowing we are not alone in that process.

Specifically, I’d like to explore whether members of this community would be open to:

— Connecting with attorneys who have already demonstrated familiarity with this institution and these types of claims.

— Coordinating timing where it is legally appropriate to do so, so that individual cases are not resolved quietly and in isolation.

— Considering a joint regulatory complaint to bodies such as the OCC, the Federal Reserve, or the SEC, which are explicitly empowered to look at institutional patterns.

None of this requires anyone to share details they are not comfortable sharing.

If you are interested in connecting, I hope the editor will consider a mechanism for members to signal that interest. Even an anonymous registry or a secure signal to the editor could help us gauge numbers without risking anyone’s current position.

To Story 252: know that you aren’t alone—and you aren’t “crazy”. The “gaslighting” of an altered performance review is a classic corporate tactic used to create a paper trail for future termination or to justify withholding bonuses/promotions. 1. I’ve read many of the stories shared on this platform and most focus on behaviour in the front office. What’s missing from that narrative is an honest acknowledgement that the same behaviour, harassment, intimidation, and discrimination towards women, was also deeply prevalent in ops. My time in the Citigroup London in operations years ago now…

Citi’s consent order on risk management and the consent order on data are not independent. Yet, the organization has decoupled them to check the box on one while the prerequisite for doing it properly remains unmet. Out of strategy for closure. All the while understanding their dependency. Risk management systems rely entirely on underlying data….

To the person/group who started this website, a very big and heartfelt thank you for providing us with a safe platform to tell the truth without having to worry about ramifications and/or retribution. Despite having a safe platform to voice all the injustices, there are still those who rather remain silent and with my entry,…

I recently left Citi but feel compelled to share what I was subjected to during my tenure. Verbal Abuse: Frequent use of profanity and aggressive language during professional discussions. Coercive Deadlines: A “do or die” management style involving constant threats to my position if tasks weren’t completed by end-of-day—even when timelines were unrealistic. Threatened to…
