Editor’s Note

We are beginning to receive multiple story submissions from a single person at one time, which is absolutely fine. We get it: There’s a lot to say!

There is a lot of scrutiny on this site – specifically, people are watching to see if submissions are organic. How we know, is that a powerful PR agent planted one in the hopes we would manipulate it so that he could trap us w/ screenshots to give the press in hopes of discrediting us. (At least that’s our guess.) When that didn’t happen – because we aren’t touching anything except to redact names – he started frantically trying to cover his tracks. It was both painful and amusing to watch the ensuing panic that happened once he realized his story was published exactly like he sent it.

All this to say, from now on, if you submit multiple stories in a row, we will add a number to it. So, if you send in four posts it will say (1/4, 2/4, etc.).

Otherwise, you’re always welcome to space submissions out.

Thank you to this community for your thoughtful stories. So many of them are heartbreaking and all of this toxicity is so avoidable.

The world is watching & you are making a difference.

I met on a few occasions with the Senior MD leading remediation at Citi and her overseeing senior MD-level committee. During one of our first interactions, the MD was genuinely ecstatic that I had simply followed up on a request. Not impressed. Ecstatic. That reaction told me more about the transformation than any status deck…

I’m a woman in my late 20s working on the buyside, and not enough is said about the role women sometimes play in undermining their peers’ careers. A few years ago, two of my colleagues were competing for a promotion, and one of them, in an attempt to get ahead, started flirting with senior bankers….

Watching commentators on the Golf Channel discuss Phil Mickelson’s banishment from his club got me thinking about how when action against influential people occurs, it’s natural to wonder what happened behind the scenes. The public rarely has access to the full story, but organizations clearly understand that removing a prominent figure carries costs of its…
