Story 145
I am a female C16 employee at Citi. I submitted formal ethics complaints regarding two male managers for conduct I believe constituted serious gender bias and discrimination. I was recently informed by HR that both individuals were cleared without qualification.
I am unable to describe the full extent of the discriminatory behavior, as doing so would make my identity readily identifiable and would likely expose me to retaliation. However, this type of conduct is not isolated—it occurs regularly within the organization.
I understand this site doesn’t publish names so will note the woman who is pursuing legal action against Citi for ‘institutional misogyny’ – someone well respected by the staff here – is a hero to many. It is very upsetting that such practices have persisted without accountability. Since 2023, dozens of highly capable women have been forced out or sidelined. The scale and persistence of this outcome is staggering.
