Story 157

At Citi, I requested an Ethics investigation and submitted a lot of documentation in support of my claims. When the investigator called me, she did not engage with the submitted documentation. They stuck with narrative — as if they had chosen not to look at specific aspects to avoid surfacing any uncomfortable truths.

The complaint documented not only my own experience but a pattern of elimination targeting specific employees. People who challenged leadership. People who could not be controlled or would not be silenced. Older employees, females, from a different national origin than the group’s leader.

Those individuals were not interviewed as part of a pattern investigation. Their experiences were not treated as corroborating evidence of a coordinated practice.

This is how pattern discrimination survives internal investigation. By atomizing connected events into individual cases, each one can be assessed in isolation and found inconclusive.

Citi’s consent order on risk management and the consent order on data are not independent. Yet, the organization has decoupled them to check the box on one while the prerequisite for doing it properly remains unmet. Out of strategy for closure. All the while understanding their dependency. Risk management systems rely entirely on underlying data….

To Story 215, Citi knows regulators don’t care because of who is in the White House. I also think its C-suite – especially Jane – gets off on the desperation and sadness in these stories; in their mind, anyone who doesn’t like the place simply isn’t up to snuff. I do, however, think it makes…

Hello, in the story pertaining to the “Indian Mafia” in Technology at Citi, I can absolutely confirm this is true. Stories 85 and 94 are worse than anyone can imagine. The Technology group at Citi is known internally as the “Indian Mafia.” For years, it has operated like an unchecked power center where people do whatever they want, whenever they want. What business partners ask for rarely matters, and the spending is out of control….
