To Story 157, the same thing happened to me. I submitted the names of 30 people who could counter the narrative Citi was trying to build against me – not a single one was called. Between that and two other very damning signs, I knew they were planning to bury me. But the worst part was the psychological predation and manipulation that accompanied the whole process. Questions weren’t posed in a way that was ‘seeking to understand’ – they were designed to make me question reality, which is simply sick. Once I realized what was happening, I started taking loads of screenshots as evidence, something I recommend anyone going through a Citi-HR-investigation do. I would also record every phone call secretly* because even though it won’t be admissible in court, you can turn the recording into detailed, contemporaneous notes, which are usable.
To current Citi employees: Make no mistake, the firm’s weaponized HR department is alive and well. May the odds forever be in your favor!
*They will try to scare you into believing you can’t take recordings but trust me – they’re doing whatever nasty and potentially illegal things are necessary to win against you, so be bold.
