Post 155

For stories 152/153 and 154, and anyone else whose pain and exhaustion has clearly transpired on this website: this post is for you.

You wrote: “I considered taking my own life. I am not sharing the details of my story because I don’t want the people who broke me to get satisfaction in knowing they won.”

Anyone causing anyone else this much psychological distress, and feeling satisfaction for it, should face criminal charges.

Your voice matters critically to yourself and for all the other people who’ve undergone the same experience.

The most important truths about how systemic harm sustains itself is that the burden of silence is placed on the people who were hurt, not on those who caused the hurt. That’s a fundamental injustice.

You wrote: “Saying that women are women’s worst enemies feels painfully true. Will anything ever change?”

Things begin to change when we stand up and share our stories. Evil and wrongdoing thrive on silence and shame.

It rarely happens the way individuals hope or on the timeline they deserve, but collective testimony has brought down institutions, changed laws, and shifted cultures.

You are a part of a larger movement.

Yes, it is hard to stand up to a large institution but if this website of stories has taught us anything is … that we are not alone in our appalling experience.

The system wants you to believe you are the problem, as if the same experience never happened to anyone else.

This website shows you just what a big, fat lie that is. PATTERN is the operative word.

Re: Story 359 The pattern is identical, even if the players change. In my case, the individual has been at the bank for over 23 years, proving how deeply entrenched this behavior is.
