Story 120

I have shared a story—one of many I could share, and honestly, would love to. But here I am, exhausted.

I want to leave my peers here with a quote I just stumbled across after a very long, draining day. But before I do—icing on the cake? I missed my entire evening with my family so I could complete the “Anti-Harassment and Retaliation” compliance training course, which is, quite frankly, re-traumatizing every single time I am required to take it.

It’s one thing to be victimized. It’s another to be forced to repeatedly relive that trauma just to check a “hey regulators, we’re compliant” box. That feels less like accountability and more like humiliating mockery for those who have been victimized in the workplace.

These financial institutions—Citi being one from my own experience—need to open their eyes. Practice what you preach. No more double standards. F’ing accountability.

If you force employees to be “educated” on these matters, then the burden of responsibility to actually effectuate change lies with you—the corporation. Take responsibility. If you train and test employees on right versus wrong, then take accountability when you are wrong and take the simple action of making it right.

The Financial Times reported today that another lawsuit has been filed against Citi by a former executive in its wealth division. The allegations involve risk management, compliance concerns, and claims of retaliation after concerns were escalated internally. Citi has denied the allegations and stated that the lawsuit has “absolutely zero merit.” As always, allegations are…

Lindsey Graham, the warmongering Trump-bootlicker died today, holding his seat for 24 years. For some reason, it made me depressed to think about the reality women face at work. I worked at Wells Fargo’s Wealth & Investment Management group for many years. The number of mediocre men who failed-up cannot be reasonably counted. [REDACTED] ran…
