Story 129
I saw the high-profile lawsuit that was filed against Citi, and the part where the woman said she was questioned about a one-sided “affair” didn’t surprise me at all. That’s straight out of the company’s HR handbook. I’ve had three female colleagues blindsided by these almost casual accusations – being told they were “coming onto” their boss or were trying to ensnare a senior manager in some twisted plot – as if those senior guys are helpless. Maybe HR pulls the same moves on men in investigatons but I’ve never heard of it. Two resigned immediately out of sheer panic and embarrassment. My guess is it’s a way to force women out of the company without having to pay severance.
