I was a Managing Director at Citi and when a significant promotion was available, it was given to a male who was a Director, a more junior title at Citi than Managing Director. By Citi’s own standards, I was senior to this male. I had to report to the male, who had less seniority and experience than me. It is incomprehensible that a well-run organization could justify this decision.
