Story 427

When I was hired at Citi 5 years ago, it was a different place. The last few years of transformation have done nothing other than “transformed” people who were not people leaders into positions of senior leadership. This allowed team members with “connections” to those newly put in power to sabotage the careers of those who made them feel threatened. I’m sorry to say that most of these people were women going after other women in a vicious cut-throat manner. More so with all of the job cuts this year. I stupidly believed that most women in leadership positions at Citi supported other women. I learned that women in leadership positions at Citi who supported other women were few and far between. They are there if you are lucky enough to find them. Rather that showcasing your talent, I recommend that if you happen to get a job there, keep your head down for now until all of this craziness blows over. In the meantime start looking for your next job outside of Citi.
