In my 20s, while working on a sales team at Morgan Stanley, I experienced repeated sexual harassment that became normalized. A well-known external wholesaler made unwanted advances toward me for months. At a firm-hosted event, he forcefully pulled me into a room, kissed and touched me until I pushed him off and left. The next day at work, he slapped my ass—an act witnessed by my manager.
My manager escalated the incident and apologized to me. Within two weeks, after the issue was reported to leadership, I was terminated.
That individual remains a wholesaler, still moving through major financial institutions, while I was the one removed.
This was only one of the many instances which occurred during my tenure at the firm.
