In the last performance review cycle, it was mandatory for at least 5% of employees to receive the lowest grade (4). It’s an open secret that anyone with a 4 is being put on a PIP that’s deliberately impossible to pass, so they’ll all be let go of in 3 months with no pay out. It’s a way to keep the redundancy cycle going with no redundancy payments.
