Story 44

The examples shared are not surprising. My experience in Citi is similar. HR is weaponized to squash anyone speaking up. They train us to speak up, contact Ethics or HR and when you do everything is used against you.

Before going to HR, I talked to a lawyer and was very prepared for what HR were going to do, but without that knowledge I would have been devastated by the results of their “investigation”. The audacity to ignore facts, not addressing issues raised, labeling emails as just jokes, misunderstandings or mistakes, then the retaliation and the pressure to quit.

Luckily, I left, doing well and proud of myself for speaking up, even to deaf ears.

To story 307, I went through the exact same in another group, we are not liars or crazy. With all the proof in the world, HR will never ever investigate anything. In my case a lawyer got involved and I managed to leave on my own, but everything else is the same playbook. In my…
