Story 64

A lot of women at Citi are talking about this site. Many of us are afraid to share our experiences because retaliation is a real concern, especially here. But the national coverage has been incredible, and there’s a sense that once bonus season passes, more people will feel safe enough to speak up. The stories are all recognizable. I am a director who came here from another industry but what’s striking is how many women from other firms say what goes on here is next level.

I am shaking as I write this. I have spent a long time suppressing what I have experienced, largely out of fear. Fear of retaliation, fear of attaching my name to something that could have consequences for my career. I am a current employee based in Florida and have worked on the Technology side of…

As a senior executive in financial services (not Citibank), I’ve watched time and time again as high-performing, driven women have been pushed out of the organization. I fell for the company line about early retirements and decisions to pursue other interests, but now I know these women were targeted. My own story is this: decades…
