My manager, knowing full well I was under-employed in my current position, asked if I saw a future for myself at Citi, clearly trying to gauge whether I’d quit. On the day of performance roundtables, he walked over to my desk and asked point blank if I wanted to leave, shortly after I raised concerns through official channels. I had been documenting everything. The timing was not a coincidence. I was a part of the next round of layoffs.
