Story 240

Story 239, I believe you. Citi is stuck in a warped, Mad Men–era sitcom, where women are expected to endure while men—no matter how mediocre or toxic—remain untouchable. One account here describes a drunk employee who wrapped his car around a tree with his two young children inside. In New York, that’s a felony. He should have lost his brokerage licenses, yet the company cleaned up the mess and eventually promoted him to run the desk.

Imagine if a female MD at Citi had done the same. Jane Fraser and her *charming* Head of HR, [REDACTED], would likely have issued a joint memo making an example of her and ensuring she never worked again. The double standard in professional conduct doesn’t even try to be subtle.
