Story 256

I’m one of several women at a Citi location in the U.S. who experienced sustained harassment from a senior leader who was repeatedly given a pass despite repeated HR violations. I’m not naming the location out of concern about retaliation but if I did, the ER personnel would know exactly what I mean. One told me they are drowning in complaints.

I spent today re-reading stories, and I’m sure someone who is unfamiliar with Citi’s culture will think the incidents are too outrageous to be believed. In fact, what has been shared is only the tip of the iceberg. The lack of ethics in every corner of every building is so deep that women who work there long enough – especially those of us who lack seniority – understand there is no point trying to get help.

It is not normal; don’t let them try and convince you this “happens everyday” at other Wall Street banks – it doesn’t. Jane herself said on an MD conference call “there are easier places to work” – too bad she doesn’t use her power as CEO and Board Chair to even try and make it better. *eyeroll*
