Story 258

I agree with Story 256. Someone unfamiliar with Citi’s culture might think the incidents are too outrageous to be believed. And yet. They are true and there is worse. I had never thought I’d live to experience anything like it.

Setting aside the gendered misconduct for a moment, what does that culture look like on the ground?

In Tech & Data, it looks like a senior leader who can’t find time for team meetings but reliably prioritizes three-hour lunches with an entourage in tow.

It looks like jeans worn the way no dress code would permit (picture — or not ! — a plump plumber) because the dress code, like every other rule, is for the Tampa birds.

The insanity is the logical output of a place where accountability has never been enforced.

Membership in the fraternity, yacking loudly in [a language that is not English] in the office, inclusive only of your kin — a badge of honor.

Thank you Story 318 for this post. Building on this. This isn’t just an awkward shoutout over a ranking nobody at Citi can actually find — it’s the public capstone on a relationship that’s been quietly forming since Fraser reached out to congratulate Trump on his election win in 2024. Eric Trump set up a…

Over 23 years at Citibank, this Managing Director has perfected a technique for removing targeted employees from impact long before they’re shown the door. The method is simple: quietly strip away their workload, redirect it toward favored staff, and systematically deny them the opportunity to demonstrate their abilities. By the time restructuring or layoffs arrive,…
