Story 186
I recently left a business execution role in Citi Wealth because the culture is chaotic, dysfunctional, and fundamentally toxic. I worked at another big bank for 12 years before coming here and I don’t know how to describe that everything here is surreal, almost fake. If you are part of a project, it’s impossible to know that it actually happened but since someone in IT writes an email declaring success everyone believes it. No real QA, UAT, basic business process discipline – no real protocols, no training, no change management, nothing that resembles a ‘normal’ project lifecycle. What does it matter when nobody with influence cares?
I will have PTSD for a long time and I guess I came on here to send a message to senior management, who doesn’t deserve to be called “leadership”: people see through your self-congratulatory bullsh#t, knowing you don’t give two cr@ps about the people on the ground doing the work every day in an environment that amounts to psychological warfare. And what’s even more sick, instead of reflecting on what needs to change, you’ll try to figure out who I am so that you can dismiss everything I have to say and congratulate yourself on that too. Shame on you and good riddance.
