Story 205

Story 199 resonated with me. I recently left BNY after many, many years. It is an extremely toxic environment, where speaking up puts a target on your back. There are certain issues you can never speak of – anything around talent retention and recruitment, or just staffing in general. If you have been in the company for a long period of time, you believe you are being loyal, but they will lay those folks off before they can retire. For a company that repeatedly stated that a return to office was important for collaboration, everyone is out for themselves. 25% of staff were required to be less than meets expectations, but they will claim their are no forced rankings. In many areas, it’s still very much the boys club. Women are left out of conversations and decisions because they aren’t part of the club. I’m amazed more hasn’t been said on this platform how terrible and toxic of an environment it is throughout the organization.
