Story 252

I am a VP based in Florida with Citi. This is my first “real” job out of college. Last year, I filed an HR complaint after noticing that my annual review had been changed from neutral / positive-ish to decidedly negative, after I had acknowledged it. I was shocked. I included screen shots of before and after pictures of what had happened with written details of the conversations with my supervisor. It has been almost five months and my complaint has not been acknowledged. I am deeply distressed and feel like there is no where to turn. I don’t understand how a company could be so cruel to its employees nor do I get why they do it. Wouldn’t productivity be better if they treated us with basic respect? I also do not understand how it gets away with employment practices that are plainly illegal.

Having spent nearly 25 successful years as a senior leader in wealth management, and one of the few women, I have never experienced anything like what transpired at Citi. I remain perplexed, disappointed, and shocked by the firm’s actions and its continued disregard for the damage caused to a previously unblemished career. Throughout my tenure…

Congratulations on creating a safe space for women to share their experiences and share their stories. I salute you! With over 18 years in global markets, I’ve sadly seen and experienced it all – sexual harassment, being passed over for promotion simply because I was a women, seen as a lesser performing employee as I…

I’ve been in finance for 10 years. When I joined a grad scheme in the City- a male director described as ‘punchy’ was hired onto the team from another bank. For the next two years he would harass me on the trading floor – in front of colleagues, he’d ask why I was so happy…
