Story 250
To Story 245: What you describe closely mirrors what was reported in the Financial Times coverage of Citi’s CSIS division. Employee raises a concern and is quickly surrounded by lawyers who present themselves as fact-finders, but in reality are focused on gauging how firmly you intend to stand by your account—because if you do, you risk being targeted for termination or a layoff. Very wise to be documenting everything.
There have been several recent submissions to this platform suggesting that Citi is trying to exit its Consent Order prematurely – likely enabled by the current administration – who would probably ignore a whistleblower if one came forward anyway.
That is, of course, within their rights. But it raises a broader concern: without fully addressing its underlying issues, it’s only a matter of time before another “Revlon-type” problem occurs. Citi’s data environment is too fragmented and unstable to sustain shortcuts without consequences.
